Why are there so many varied warranty periods offered? Are all ultrasound probes or transducers repairable? What payment options do you offer? What shipping options are available for ultrasound parts? What shipping options are available for complete ultrasound systems? What information do you need when we are ordering an ultrasound part? What is a portable ultrasound system? What does refurbished or reconditioned mean? Warranties:If at all possible, our company policy is to try and match the OEM warranty period in the United States for the same part or piece of equipment. Be wary of companies offering warranties that seem too good to be true. "If is seems too good to be true, it probably is". Reputable companies offer reasonable warranty periods with competively priced products. (top) Can All Probes Be Repaired? No. Although many ultrasound probes can be repaired, each needs to be evaluated individually. There are common problems with certain types of probes but we have found that only through a thorough evaluation can the exact nature of the problem be assessed. There are also situations where a probe has multiple "problems" that are only discovered once the initial problem is fixed. However, we do offer standard repair costs on many makes and models. Please contact us with your needs. (top) Payment Options:We accept Mastercard and Visa credit cards. We have found that most of our international customers prefer to use a bank wire transfer or Western Union. We will also ship C.O.D. within the United States. Orders can be placed by Purchase Order from established hospitals and universities in the United States. Once we have established a satisfactory credit history with our domestic clients, we will accept Purchase Orders and payment can be made on a net 30 basis in most cases. (top) Shipping Ultrasound Parts:We ship via FedEx when products need to be expidited and will insure our products for your protection. We offer overnight shipping as well as 2-day economy service when requested. We also offer "ground services" within the United States for items that are not in a rush to be delivered or where the weight of the package makes express shipping cost prohibitive. We do not mark up our shipping costs or "pad" them. We bill for actual costs incurred. (top) Shipping Ultrasound Systems:Within the United States we offer shipping by specialized electronics carriers that uses an air-ride padded van line mode of transport. We also use FedEx Freight Services if a rush delivery is required. For overseas shipments we ship using an established air freight forwarder and offer complete door to door service including packaging, crating, and delivery to your final destination. (top) Required Ordering Information:The most basic information we require is the manufacturer, the model of the system, and the part number of the product you are looking for. Our personnel are trained to ask for more specific information when it is necessary to match revision levels for compatibility issues. (top) Portable Systems:After speaking with clients worldwide, it seems clear that there are varying definitions of what is considered to be a portable ultrasound system. To keep things simple and for purposes of clarification, we consider a portable system to be one that a single person can carry by hand from one location to another. This usually limits these systems to a maximum weight of approximately 60 pounds. Nearly all other systems are considered to be movable or rollable by means of caster wheels built into the bottom of the console. The size and weight of these units can vary tremendously which, in the case of the largest systems, may affect the ability to roll them easily from one room to another. Some models are designated "desktop" systems designed to be placed on the office counter or table. These models can also be put on ultrasound carts to make them more easily movable. The reason we are posting this FAQ is because often we get requests for "portable" systems when actually a small "roll-about" system will work fine. Due to their popularity, the true "portable" systems can be much more costly when compared to a "rollable" unit of the same quality. If in doubt, please let us know and we will be happy to help you pick a unit best suited for your needs. (top) Refurbished or Reconditioned:To many used ultrasound dealers, "refurbished" or "reconditioned" means simply painting the ultrasound console. On our our website you will see examples of the actual condition of the systems that we sell. In some cases, due to different warehouse locations, we use standard photos. We also paint our systems as necessary, however, we pay critical attention to testing and re-testing the integrity of the probes and electronic components comprising the system. This effort is to ensure that you have the best system possible, not only in appearance, but in functionality as well. Any part that is remotely questionable is repaired or replaced prior to shipment. (top) |
