Research Ultrasound / Veterinary Ultrasound - Any facility looking for a full featured, high resolution system will be well served by the Philips/HP Sonos 5500 Ultrasound Machine. These systems are perfect for precisely scanning rodents and other small species that require a probe with the least amount of surface scanning area (the "footprint"). The S8 and S12 wide band transducers operate at frequencies high enough to produce stellar near-field images with the smallest possible "footprint", allowing you clarity and manuverability in the tightest of places. This machine also runs a wide variety of other sector, linear, convex, and TEE probes for larger animals. Various companies offer "low-end" systems in this price range but they simply can not produce the same image quality.
